What it does

Everything you need to turn audio into text, on your PC

Dikdukai is professional transcription software for Windows, built first for Hebrew. It converts audio to text, organizes the conversation by speaker and produces a document you can send.

Transcribe WhatsApp voice messages

Export a chat from WhatsApp and drop the ZIP file in. Dikdukai finds every voice message, transcribes it and puts them all into one document, with the sender and time above each message.

Automatic speaker identification

Speakers are separated automatically. Click "Speaker 1", type "Attorney Cohen", and the name updates across the whole transcript at once.

Timestamps and built-in player

Every line has a timestamp. Click a line to play that part of the recording, so checking and fixing is easy.

"Found in the conversation"

Amounts, dates, times, phone numbers and addresses mentioned in the conversation are collected in one panel. Click an item to jump to the line where it was said.

Export to Word, PDF and Excel

Export a tidy document with your office logo and name at the top. TXT and SRT subtitles for videos are included too.

Record from your microphone

New: record a meeting, a lesson or a dictation right in the app, then click "Transcribe now". The recording is saved on your PC only.

A folder for every client

Each transcript is saved in its client or project folder. You can also set a watched folder: every recording saved there is queued automatically.

Search all transcripts

Search for a word or a name and find it in every transcript you have made, in one organized library.

Full privacy, no cloud

Transcription runs on your own computer. The recording, the transcript and the document are never sent to any server. Suitable for sensitive material.

Download and install

Download the transcription software and install it

The installer is large (about 6 GB) because the transcription models are inside it. That is what lets Dikdukai work afterwards with no internet connection at all.

  1. Download the installer with the download button.
  2. Right-click the file, choose Properties, tick Unblock and click OK.
  3. Double-click the file to open it and run DikdukAI-Setup.
  4. Finish the installation and open Dikdukai from your desktop.

If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info and then Run anyway. This is normal for new software. If Google Drive says it can't scan the file for viruses, that is because of its size. Click "Download anyway".

Requirements: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) · about 7 GB free disk space · 16 GB RAM recommended (8 GB works in Fast mode)

Transcribe audio to text offline, without uploading it

What is offline transcription?

Transcription converts speech to text: a recording, a call or a video becomes written text. Most automatic transcription services work in the cloud, which means your recording is uploaded to someone else's server. Dikdukai does the same job locally on your Windows PC: no internet, no upload, so the recording, the transcript and the document stay with you.

Transcribe WhatsApp voice messages into one document

Instead of listening to dozens of voice notes one by one and typing them out, use WhatsApp's "Export chat" and drop the ZIP file into Dikdukai. It finds the voice messages, transcribes them and puts them in order, with the sender and the time. Works with chats exported from Android and iPhone.

Meeting and interview transcription with speaker identification

In a conversation with several people, Dikdukai separates the speakers and labels them "Speaker 1", "Speaker 2" and so on. Name each speaker once and the name updates throughout the transcript. The result reads like proper minutes of a meeting, hearing, mediation or interview.

Transcribe lectures, lessons, interviews and podcasts

Dikdukai transcribes video files (MP4, MOV, MKV and more), not just audio. Students transcribe lectures, teachers turn recorded lessons into text, and creators export SRT subtitles to upload with their videos to YouTube.

Hebrew, English, Arabic and Russian

Choose the language of the recording, or "Mixed / automatic detection" for recordings that switch between languages. Hebrew transcription is where Dikdukai is strongest, using models trained on Hebrew. The interface is available in all four languages.

A private alternative to cloud transcription apps

If you are looking for a Windows alternative to cloud tools like Otter or TurboScribe, or a desktop app in the spirit of MacWhisper, Dikdukai runs entirely on your PC. That matters for lawyers, HR teams, researchers and anyone handling confidential recordings.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions about Dikdukai

What is Dikdukai (Dikduk AI)?

Dikdukai is transcription software for Windows. It converts recordings, video files and WhatsApp voice messages to text in Hebrew, English, Arabic and Russian, with speaker identification and export to Word, PDF, Excel and SRT. Everything runs on your computer, with no cloud.

How do I transcribe audio to text offline on Windows?

Install Dikdukai, drop your audio file (MP3, M4A, WAV and more) into the window, choose a language and start. The transcript appears with timestamps and speakers, and you can export it to Word, PDF, Excel or TXT. No internet connection is needed after installation.

Is there a free transcription software for Windows?

You can try Dikdukai right after installing, with no sign-up: one file up to 3 minutes. There is also a free 30-day pilot with no limits: email your Machine ID to dikdukai@gmail.com and receive an activation key.

Can I transcribe WhatsApp voice notes?

Yes. In WhatsApp, open the chat, choose "Export chat" with media and save the ZIP file on your PC. Drop it into Dikdukai and click to transcribe the conversation. You get one document with every voice message, its sender and its time.

Is it safe to upload recordings to AI transcription tools?

With Dikdukai you don't upload anything. The transcription runs on your own PC, and recordings and transcripts are never sent to a server. That is the main difference from online transcription services.

Which files can I transcribe?

Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, OPUS, FLAC, AMR, WMA. Video: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WEBM. Plus a WhatsApp chat ZIP, and whole folders of files.

Can I transcribe a video and create subtitles?

Yes. Drop a video into Dikdukai and get a transcript with timestamps. Export it as an SRT subtitle file and upload it with your video, for example to YouTube.

Does it identify who is speaking?

Yes. Speaker identification is automatic. Each speaker gets a label, and you can give it a name that updates across the whole transcript.

How do I transcribe a Zoom or Teams meeting?

Save the meeting recording (M4A or MP4) and drop it into Dikdukai. In the new version you can also record a meeting directly from your microphone.

How accurate is the transcription?

Dikdukai uses advanced speech models, but like any automatic transcription it is worth reviewing. Every line has a timestamp: click it, listen, and correct in place. The app also highlights segments worth checking.

What are the system requirements?

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), about 7 GB of free disk space, and 16 GB of RAM recommended. With 8 GB, use Fast mode. No special graphics card is needed.

Is there a Mac or mobile version?

Not at the moment. Dikdukai is available for Windows only.
